Secretary General of the Nordic Council of Ministers

Karen Ellemann currently serves as the Secretary General of the Nordic Council of Ministers. Since 2023, she has been leading collaboration among the Nordic countries with a focus on sustainability, innovation, and the promotion of free movement of people.

She previously held ministerial positions in Denmark, including Minister for the Interior and Social Affairs, Minister for the Environment, and Minister for Gender Equality and Nordic Cooperation. Drawing on her extensive political and diplomatic experience, she is committed to advancing the green transition and technological innovation across the Nordic region. She also plays a key role in strengthening the global presence and practical cooperation of the Nordic countries through international partnerships.
