Gilsoo Jang

Director, Resilient Autonomous Grid Research Center & Dean, College of Engineering, Korea University

Professor Gilsoo Jang is a faculty member in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Korea University and Director of the Research Center for Resilient Autonomous Power Grids. His work focuses on building autonomous power systems that ensure resilience, reliability, and flexibility—key technologies for achieving carbon neutrality by 2050.

In July 2024, he was appointed Dean of the College of Engineering at Korea University, where he is driving innovation in education and research. He actively collaborates with industry partners to develop practical and scalable power grid solutions.

Professor Jang leads a multidisciplinary research group working on grid state awareness, autonomous control, and resilience technologies. His goal is to translate academic outcomes into real-world applications, making him a leading figure in advancing autonomous systems for carbon-neutral power networks.
