Antti Kauppinen is currently the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Erillisverkot, the Finnish state-owned operator of public safety communications networks. He leads the development of 4G and 5G-based communication systems that support public safety across Finland.

With over 20 years of experience in public safety communication technologies, he has held various key roles in the field. Most notably, he has spearheaded the Virve 2.0 project, which established a 5G-based broadband public safety network. This network enables real-time coordination and efficient data communication among emergency response agencies such as the police, fire services, emergency medical teams, and defense forces.

Kauppinen is also an active participant in global forums and international panels, where he advocates for the importance and necessity of 5G technologies optimized for public safety. His efforts continue to drive the expansion of next-generation public safety communication infrastructure worldwide.
